A Promise
Before you read
In the simple present, many verbs add -s with he, she, or it: June calls, Tessa takes, and the tag says. The base form appears with I and you: I call, you take.
Use promise to before an action: Tessa promises to take the suitcase. This tells us what someone has agreed to do.
