Ser and estar
Spanish uses es for what something is and está for where something is or its current state. In this chapter, the studio está cerrado, but the address es the park.
Questions
Spanish questions begin with an inverted question mark and end with a regular one. Está bien asks whether something is correct.
Marta arrives at the studio before nine.
The studio is closed.
Marta waits.
Today is her first day.
At nine, Clara arrives.
"Hello, I am Clara," Clara says.
"Hello, I am Marta."
Clara opens the studio.
Marta looks at the studio with Clara.
"The work is here," Clara says.
Clara opens a file.
"Look at the poster and ask first," Clara says.
"Yes," Marta says.
Dani arrives after Clara.
"The poster is here," Marta says.
Dani looks at the file.
Dani prints a proof.
Marta looks at the proof.
The address is the park.
Marta looks at the file.
The file has that address.
"Is it correct?" Dani asks.
Marta waits, but Clara is not there.
Marta changes the red on the poster.
"Yes, it is correct," Marta says.
Dani prints more posters.
Nico arrives at the studio.
"The poster for the fair?" Nico asks.
"It is here," Dani says.
Nico takes posters and a proof to the market.
Marta opens the file.
"The red is very good," Dani says.
Marta looks at the address, but does not ask.
At the market, Sofía looks at a poster.
"The address is not correct," Sofía says.
"The fair is not in the park."
"It is in Plaza de la Reina."
Sofía marks the proof in red.
Nico takes the proof to Marta.
Marta holds the proof and looks at Clara.
