Je, su, and ja sam
Je means is, while su means are. Ja sam means I am, with the short verb form in its natural second position.
Adjective agreement
Kafić is masculine, so it is malen, star, and otvoren. Kava and fotografija are feminine, so the forms become dobra and stara.
U plus a place
U means in. After u, a location often changes form, as in u Samoboru and u kuhinji.

The café is small and old.
The door is old.
Now Lara opens the door.

The photograph is old.
"Hello, Grandma," Lara says.

"Hello, Lara," Teta Kata says.

The bread is good.
Teta Kata eats the bread.
Now Lara eats the bread.
The coffee is here.
The coffee is good.
"Thank you," Lara says.
"Good?" Teta Kata asks.
"Good, thank you," Lara says.

"This is the café," Lara says.
Lara opens the door now.
The door is open.
Now the café is open.
"For now?" Teta Kata asks.
"Yes, for now," Lara says.
Teta Kata says, "Yes."
Lara is here now.
